Following the recent release of his single "Forgiven", London-based Americana folk singer William Poyer is back with his stunning five-track EP of the same name. The EP was recorded at Mill Town Studios in Wiltshire and produced by Archie Sylvester of Ferris & Sylvester.
With his unique vocal style, William delivers a powerful performance in the title track "Forgiven," which is an indicator of good things to come. "Eagle" is bluesy and packed full of soul. This is Americana at its finest. A little moment of calmness before William picks up the tempo with the ridiculously catchy "Lightning", which has an air of the wild west about it.
"Vincent's Song" starts off with glorious acoustic guitar and a subtle snare that is just enough to keep the track centred. The song is a delight. There are plenty of layers to it; every listen brings something new to the ear.
Finishing off with "For Yesterday", William ups the tempo again. Giving his all, this is a memorable end to a memorable EP.
Not only are the tracks skilfully composed and produced, but there is an open honesty in the lyrical content that makes the entire EP all the more enchanting.
"Forgiven" is available via Spiritual Records from 8th March, find out more at presave.to/pSPIRIT08DB
