Following last years success of their fourth album ‘The Clearing’ and a fantastic run of headline arena dates, Wolf Alice upped the ante and confirmed numerous festival headline slots and outside shows this year, which has cemented them as a must-see festival headliner.
After seeing this band numerous times over the years I knew I had to go to this large gathering in Newcastle's Exhibition park as part of the ‘In The Park Festival’ dates. Walking up to the venue I could already feel excitement from the crowd which grew the closer I got. After arriving, the crowd were well warmed up after sets from Clifford’s and KEO who I unfortunately missed but heard great things about.
As 8 o'clock struck it was time for Wolf Alice to hit the stage to thunderous roars and ripping into the single ‘Bloom Baby Bloom’ and then playing an array of songs from their discography including hits ‘Don’t Delete The Kisses’ and ‘Bros’ and personal favourites ‘Yuk Foo’ and ‘Leaning Against the Wall’
Wolf Alice really know how to elevate their songs into a live setting perfectly displaying that extra kick that you can’t get from a studio recording. Performing in front of a shiny star backdrop they oozed style throughout the whole performance

After a 90 minute set or so, the band stepped off stage for a brief few moments before returning for an encore of some of their heaviest songs and a snippet of Nirvanas ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ and closing out on ‘Giant Peach’ which always impresses me with how tight the band can sound.
This show proved Wolf Alice are not just one of the most exciting acts today but a band that manages to get better and better with time. You really get a sense of feeling that you are witnessing greatness and a show that will stick with you for a long, long time.

The band has a packed schedule for the remainder of 2026, with dates spanning from Vienna to Perth, so there is likely a show near you soon. For UK fans, Wolf Alice will be appearing at Tramlines in Sheffield (29th of July), Kendal Calling (2nd of August), Green Man Festival (23rd of August), and Custom House Square in Belfast (29th of August), before heading to the US for an extensive tour in September.
