YO
Coágulo de un instante

Picture
The artist known as Yo, created by David G. Borrero, has released a new album titled Carmina Alegría. The project is on that is based on a story that has followed his family for decades. On June 1st, 2025, Borrero’s grandmother passed away, and during that period he decided he would make a record in her name. She often talked about her younger days where she had been encouraged by radio producers who believed she could become a singer. They had even chosen a stage name for her, Carmina Alegría. The career never came to fruition, but the name stayed as a reminder of a path that was never taken. With this album, Borrero has turned that family anecdote into a finished work.

Yo is known for moving between different formats. He has made records such as Vala and De lirios y delirios, and he has published books including ¡(...)! and Poetiza como puedas. His work never stays within one set style, and he avoids being grouped under a single category. Carmina Alegría follows the same approach.

The album includes the tracks “Desaparecer,” “Carmina Alegría,” “Coágulo de un instante,” “Volver al aire,” “Siempre,” “Los muertos siempre son verdad,” and “Decirlo a veces sin palabras,” plus a bonus track titled “Levantando las manos.” Reflecting themes of absence, memory and brief moments in time and those who have helped shape his life, Yo chose the title of the album very carefully and it fits perfectly. Rather than presenting a large concept, the record focuses on one simple idea, giving his grandmother the artistic identity she once believed she might have had.

Yo keeps his public presence small. His releases appear without heavy promotion, and he does not rely on constant online content. The project is presented in the same quiet, direct manner. It is a record built from a private family story, released without extra explanation, and offered as a straightforward tribute.
