INTERVIEW WITH
CHVPTERS
SPOTIFY - INSTAGRAM
Brighton pop metal band, CHVPTERS has just released their brand new single 'You'. Find out more about them, their music and their plans for the future in our interview with the band.
Who is Chvpters?
We are CHVPTERS, a brand new, five piece pop metal band, based in Brighton.
Is there a story behind the band name?
Our name was created out of a lot of different reasons. We had all worked on a variety of different projects over a number of years, but after some of these projects unfortunately came to an end, we had decided to leave a lot of these parts of ourselves in the past, starting a new stage.... A new chapter in our lives, hence the name 'CHVPTERS'.
You're debut 'You' does a great job of showcasing your sound, what was the inspiration behind the track?
Our debut single is just a taste of what's to come, we like to take inspiration from all sorts of bands/artists that we all love and enjoy. However, for this track we'd probably say the primary influence was derived from Dreamstate; fun guitar riffs, massive choruses, cheeky breakdowns and some synths to back it up!
Everyone has individual musical inspirations but is there one band or artist that Chvpters as a whole take inspiration from?
After some of our recent shows, we've had people compare some of our work to bands like Spiritbox, Dreamstate and BMTH which is great! We love all of these bands and their influences on the metal scene. But in all honesty it's always been difficult to find a definitive artist that we all can agree on that influences us the most. I'm sure the same probably goes for most bands, every member has their niche styles and preferences, but we like just mashing all of them together! It's what makes us unique.
Is there a dream venue, festival or artist that you would like to perform at or with?
Our dream show is another difficult one really, we have so many bands we'd love the opportunity to hit the stage with. I guess if there was one particular show we'd all agree on, it would be Spiritbox. In terms of festivals, Download is an obvious pick for our sort of style; Huge metal festival, great variety of rock/metal bands, good vibes, that's our type of environment.
What are your plans for 2024?
2024 is looking like a really fun year for us, we had two awesome shows to kick the year off, our debut single was another massive moment for us obviously, but we've got plenty of exciting plans for this year. We have a show lined up for next month on the 21st of Feb supporting Blue Eyed Giants at the Green Door Store as well as plenty of other shows outside of Brighton being set up as well. Aside from shows, we have some plans to hit up the studio, so be sure to keep your eyes and ears open for us... You won't regret it. But yeah, like I've said we have loads of plans this year to keep us busy, but more importantly progressing too.
