INTERVIEW WITH...
"....poetically-beautiful alternate sludge rock."
With UK grass roots music being very much in the limelight at the moment, rising indie band JEEBO are very much at the heart of the scene. With a busy year of live shows, including an appearance at the Isle of Wight Festival, JEEBO are definitely a band to watch out for.
We were lucky enough to be able to find out a little bit about the band and what makes them who they are. Read on and find out more about them.

Q: Who is Jeebo?
JEEBO is the strange yet inviting title of the British quartet;
Vocals from leads (George & Meg) front a Lovey-dovey indie rock which flips to a more rusted, poetically-beautiful alternate sludge rock. It’s a risky performance art that is word challenging, energetic with uplifting guitar aided by a percussive and playful kit (Kenzi) and slick licked ballsy bass (Marlon).
Q:Where did the name come from?
The name is more of a sound more of a strange noise that leaks out of your mouth, a bit like, you could say how music is made. Like a feeling and I don’t think it makes sense so because of that we just like the sound of it more because of this.
Q:What moment or event in your history do you think we need to know about to understand why you make the music that you do?
As soon as we realised that we could have a more successful conversation through music than talking.
It is so difficult to describe emotions when they are all mixed together. Take some colours and mix them up, they become brown or black and if you keep mixing them how would you describe that through a conversation?
Perhaps it excites you to do such a thing the mayhem of mixing and slowly destroying those beautiful colours.
But, by saying it out loud, even now, it is dull and not as interesting. To sing it, strum it paint it through a guitar, that is where we do what we do. Music.

Q: Jeebo are on the bill at Isle of Wight Festival this year, how did that come about?
I.O.W came from the brilliant This Feeling, who are top top dogs of new rock and roll music in the UK. We have been gigging with them and they have been nothing but supportive to our tunes. Isle of Wight came at such a crucial point musically. We found our sound and I think the guys from This Feeling could sense we meant business.
Q: Speaking of live shows, what is your dream venue or festival?
A dream festival to play would definitely be a Glastonbury.
Royal Albert hall would be a snazzy venue to get loud in!
Q: Knowing what you know now, what advice would you give yourself If you could go back in time?
If we could go back in time and give some advice it would definitely be “be braver, make bolder decisions. Don’t be scared to be different. There’s so many dull sounds out there dive deeper; into feelings and music and get creative.”
