Hailing from Liverpool in England's North West, The Mysterines have been creating their own brand of alternative rock for the best part of a decade now. With three EPs and an album under their belts, the band has been working hard, touring, and getting that music out to a live audience at every opportunity.  Last night in Newcastle, the band played to a heaving Northumbria Students Union, where headliner Frank Carter and The Rattlesnakes had packed out the venue.

Striding on to the stage with the confidence of seasoned performers, the band kicked off their set with a touch of epic violin bow guitar playing. The first song, 'The Last Dance', set the tone for the evening, with the crowd lapping it up.
There was plenty of talent on display as singer Lia Metcalfe sang her heart out while hitting the tambourine with style. Bassist George kept the rhythm going with a swagger and a smile as he looked out to the crowd who were having an awesome time. There was a great energy about the band's performance, and each of The Mysterines bounced off each other's positive energy, which was definitely felt and reciprocated by the crowd.

The band played a strong set featuring their 2022 single 'Dangerous' and fan favourite 'Hung Up', a song that closed the set but certainly opened up a whole new set of fans after experiencing this very memorable performance by a band that made a real impact with this show. This is a band that have an incredible stage presence and know exactly how to get a crowd going. I whole heartedly recommend catching one of their live shows if you ever have the chance to.
