NEWCASTLE JANUARY 2024

Fresh from their epic North American tour, British metalcore heavyweights Bury Tomorrow kicked off the UK leg of their The Seventh Sun tour at a sold-out Boiler Shop in Newcastle. The band brought a few friends along with them in the form of Californian outfit Kingdom of Giants and the formidable We Came As Romans.
After queuing in subzero temperatures to get into the venue, the Newcastle crowd was definitely ready to be warmed up, and thankfully, Kingdom of Giants was more than willing to help out. They gave a very cold audience a reason to get moving, and move they did. By the time the band left the stage, there was a buzz in the room as the energy levels rose to new heights.
We Came As Romans came on stage with boundless energy and their skill and ability to get the crowd going with one of the heaviest sets I've heard for a while. They played a real crowd-pleaser of a set, including 'Darkbloom', 'Cold Like War', and 'Black Hole '. Singer Dave Stevens was climbing the barrier and getting in with the crowd at one point, much to their delight. There is little doubt that they may have Came As Romans but they left like Rock Stars.

A short break, and it was time for the headliners to take to the stage. The atmosphere built as error messages appeared on the screen at the back of the stage, with smoke filling the performance area and flowing into the crowd. With a burst of energy, the band bounded on stage and got straight on with giving the crowd what they came for. Enigmatic frontman Dan rallied the crowd up from the instant he stepped out on the stage. They played a decent mix of old and new, starting with the tour's namesake, 'The Seventh Sun', 'Abandon Us', and 'Begin Again', and that was just the first three songs.
The crowd was in for a real treat, and with explosive energy and incredible stage presence, the band did themselves proud with a decent-sized set. Making sure to let everyone know that the audience and everyone in the venue that night were one big family and encouraging inclusion, Bury Tomorrow made sure that everyone had the best time. Aside from minor technical issues at one point, which, in fairness, makes for an interesting memory for the fans, the band kept the energy levels high and made sure that everyone got their money's worth of earsplitting metal.
What a show, what a night, what a band!!!!! If you ever have the chance to see Bury Tomorrow perform live, be sure not to miss out. They are a class act, and that is evident by their fanbase, which is as dedicated as ever.
