Hailing from Merthyr Tydfil, Welsh rockers Florence Black have just dropped their brand new album, 'Bed of Nails'. At the time of writing, the album is already at number 9 in the Apple charts and is still rising. The trio is currently touring the UK in support of the release, and we were there at the Newcastle show to see what a Florence Black show is like.
There was a real buzz in the room as the first of two support acts took to the stage. With a very early start, Electric Circus had their work cut out getting those who arrived early enough warmed up. Seemingly undaunted by the task at hand, Electric Circus put on an electrifying performance with a solid set that definitely woke the crowd up and got them moving. Everyone looked like they were having a great time and so did Electric Circus, a band that has great things to come.

After a short break, James and the Cold Gun walked onstage to huge applause. Singer James wore shades and a striking striped red shirt, worn with an air of coolness that you can't fake. This band is the real deal; their ability to get the crowd going while belting out a plethora of bangers is incredible. They may have only been on stage for a short while, but it was long enough for them to make a memorable impression on my mind. It really felt like I had witnessed something very special. The band has gained a new fan here, and I am sure many others in the crowd feel the same.

With the room positively buzzing, the headliners, Florence Black, were riding the crest of a wave of energy from the audience as they kicked off their set with their album's namesake, 'Bed of Nails'. The energy that these guys have is truly infectious. The audience was lapping it up.

The lads kept the energy high as they belted out tracks new and old, from 'Don't Hold Me Down' to stand out renditions of 'Black Cat' and 'Can You Feel It?', to a very receptive Newcastle crowd. It's amazing how a band of three can fill a stage with their sound, personality, and style. From the first song to the last, Florence Black put everything into their performance and made sure that the crowd not only got their money's worth but also left safe in the knowledge that rock music is in safe hands.
An awesome show, an awesome band, and an awesome album. Have I said awesome enough? You get the idea. If you haven't seen them yet, be sure to get to a show, and if you are yet to hear their new album, 'Bed of Nails', then check it out today. You will not regret it. https://www.florenceblack.uk/
