Maisie Peters Review: NX Newcastle - Wednesday 18th October 2023
The Good Witch herself enchants Newcastle with a bewitching performance at NX Newcastle
A cold October night spent with 'The Good Witch' herself. What’s not to love? Maisie Peters brings her ‘Road to Wembley’ tour to a sold-out NX Newcastle.
Performing her latest album, ‘The Good Witch’ Peters’ stage presence is something to behold. She radiates her warm-hearted personality while simultaneously being a boundless force of energy, using up every inch of her available space. Kicking off her show with ‘The Good Witch’ and ‘Coming of Age’ set the tone perfectly for the pop-filled night that was about to follow.
The connection with the crowd was like something I’ve never witnessed. Peters made it evident from the start that the crowd was just as much part of this performance as she was. She made us feel like we belonged on that stage with her and that we had a genuine connection. She even took the time to play a snippet of one of her older songs, 'Brooklyn', just for a fan and her sister, who messaged Peters on Instagram the day of the show!

The night flew by, and before we knew it, Peters left the stage for roughly a minute before returning to a screaming audience for her encore. She brought out Gretta Ray, her opening act, to join her on stage to sing ‘History of Man’. A true ‘calm before the storm moment’, as fans held up their torches for a moment of intimacy, before Peters closed out the show with her incredibly energetic hit single ‘Lost The Breakup'.
There's no doubt Peters belongs on huge stages around the world, and I just know that her Wembley show will be something special.
