Royal Arch are a five-member band from Athens, Greece, made up in 2020 and consists of Elias Masri (vocals), Nick Kokkinos (guitar), Orestis Loukas (bass guitar), Elias Kokkinos(drums) and Vassilis Dousis (guitar). The members of the band met while still high school students. Vocalist Elias Masri joined them in 2020 and the band began to take its final shape and make music.
“La Nuit”, launched in December 2021, is the first Royal Arch single which was loved by many and was played in both local and international radio stations including the Irish station RTE2fm. Their second single Road to the light, which has just come out, moves towards more indie-rock/post punk sounds, and is clearly influenced by the 80’s and 90’s music scene.
The single refers to a man’s awakening for salvation towards the light leaving the past behind after having dealt with it. It’s a piece full of energy and nostalgia and talks about dealing with all the dark times ahead and the road to salvation. Road To the Light is dedicated to Ian Curtis, singer of the band Joy Division, whose life and music has greatly influenced Royal Arch.
Those two singles make their first EP recorded in Suono Studio by Alex Bolpasis. Mastering was done by Nick Townsend at Infrasonic Sound Studios in Los Angeles. Road To the Light was released on YouTube with a beautiful Visualizer made by: BewildBrother. The7” vinyl was brought out in February by Make me Happy Records (EU), Jigsaw Records(US) and Fastcut Records (AS) .On April 16th the Royal Arch were appeared as special guest in the first time-in-Greece live show of JAKE BUGG, the famous English indie rock singer, in the Old Depot OSY in Gazi, Athens. The band put on an amazing performance and left the audience with great impressions of their live music.
