Skunk Anansie have just released their latest single "Piggy".
Described on their Instagram as "written in a moment of rage combined with bitter disillusionment", the track is a hard hitting, no holds barred look at the leadership, misuse of power and the feeling of neglected responsibility that many people feel those in power are guilty of or guilty of ignoring. That moment of rage has been captured perfectly and is definitely emotionally charged with a clear message directed at those in power who are running the show.
The track itself is incredibly heavy with a solid performance by Mark Richardson on the drums. It may have been over 25 years since the release of their debut album "Paranoid & Sunburnt", which featured the iconic single "Weak", but Skunk Anansie have certainly not lost any of the awesome aggressive edgyness, that we all know and love.
Vocalist Skin gives a powerful performance, proving that Skunk Anansie are still as relevant today as they were when they started out.
The production is solid as a rock and the accompanying lyric video looks stunning. f this is a sign of what to expect from Skunk Anansie moving forward then the future is going to be full of great music if nothing else.
