Fuma Ninja Experience
Virtual tour
With the global pandemic affecting pretty much all travel the Virtual Ninja Experience. is a welcome breath of fresh air.
From the comfort of your own home transport yourself to Odawara, just south of Tokyo Japan, to learn about Ninjitsu from Ninjitsu Sensei Hiroshi Jinkawa, one of Japan's most revered Ninjas.
Our group tour began with a brief introduction from our guide who led us through the Odawara Castle, which in normal time would be bustling with people eager to learn.
We found Sensei Jinkawa sitting in a room at the far end of the Ninja Hall. He introduced himself in Japanese with translation provided by our guide.
He wasted no time in teaching us about the way of the Ninja, from sword placement and breathing to how to walk with a Samurai sword. We were even treated to a brief sword demonstration.
The reasoning behind each action was explained clearly and I felt I had gained an understanding of Ninjas and their ethos.

Sensei showed us various artifacts and tools that Ninjas would have used and gave us an insight into the mindset of the Ninja.
Thanks to the wonders of modern technology (live streaming) our group were invited to ask questions throughout the tour which made it a real interactive event.
If you are curious about Ninjitsu, history or Japan then this tour is most definitely for you. It isn't every day you are given the opportunity to speak with a real live Ninja.
The tour lasted just under an hour and was packed full of content designed to entertain and educate. Offering great interactivity and with a friendly and approachable tour guide, the Ninja Experience is well worth the money.
For less than the cost of a takeaway, I found food for the mind which changed my thinking and gave me a greater appreciation of Ninjitsu.
To participate in a once in a lifetime experience visit the official website.
The experience is open on selected Mondays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
The participation fee is 1,500 JPY (£10.50) per person
