Music News MonthlyNews, Reviews and Interviews Iconic band The Stranglers are on the road celebrating 50 years of uncompromising music, creating their own unique and instantly recognisable sound. The band stopped off at the historic Newcastle City Hall to rock the toon. With no support act, the night was all about giving back to the fans and honouring memories. With a massive set list which is unsurprising considering the band have achieved 25 Top 40 singles and 18 Top 40 albums in their career. JJ Burnel (Jean-Jacques Burnel), Baz Warne, Jim McCauley and Toby Hounsham had a lot to give and the Newcastle crowd were more than happy to be part of a very special evening. You know it is going to be a special night when you see chandeliers adorning the stage, the City Hall looked incredibly classy. The auditorium was seated which is unusual for the venue but that didn't stop the crowd from rocking out as The Stranglers played a plethora of memorable hits including 'Peaches', 'Golden Brown' and of course 'No More Heroes'. Their audience have supported them for half a century and that support is as strong as ever. An incredible night and a fitting tribute to 50 years of music.
