In support of that release, the hard rock legends have been touring the UK, and we were lucky enough to catch their show as they rolled into Newcastle. The air outside was chilly, but inside the venue, the anticipation was heating up rapidly as fans gathered to celebrate a band that has remained a cornerstone of the melodic hard rock scene for decades.

As well as playing their hits and songs from Hell, Fire and Damnation! they also promised to play 'Wheels Of Steel' in full and that is something no fan can resist.
CONTINUE READING It did take me by surprise just how many people turned out to see singer, musician and YouTube content creator James Marriott perform at NX in Newcastle. I don't mean I was surprised people wanted to see him; I knew it was a sold-out show, but physically seeing a queue that spanned three streets, pretty much, as the line of people coiled around the venue waiting to get their spot as near as possible to the stage. Some fans had been there for 10 hours!!! It really was a sight to behold. The fanbase is a loyal one, and James rewarded that loyalty with an impromptu performance on the front steps of NX, which was a nice touch.

The venue was packed, the air thick with excitement and the hum of conversation as fans filled out the room waiting for the band to take to the stage.

To celebrate that achievement, the legends of New Wave have hit the road on a UK tour, and we were lucky enough to go along to their Newcastle show. O2 City Hall Newcastle was crammed with dedicated fans, and despite the tour marking over half a century of the band, the fanbase stretched across the ages. The crowd, both young and old, were eager to witness the band's performance.
