Bristol-based rock multi-instrumentalist LUCKY THIEF is pleased to unveil his years-in-the-making debut album 'DIY', released today, August 25th 2023.
LUCKY THIEF emerges from the Bristol alternative music scene, armed with an album full of catchy melodies and unapologetic heaviness. LUCKY THIEF is Ed Jefferson, a multi-talented artist who’s written and recorded everything you hear on his debut album, aptly titled DIY.

This DIY attitude is a result of his outlook on life: Getting things done yourself produces something unique and raw that’s imbued with a sense of accomplishment and pride. And he’s not afraid to shout about it.

Crafted over the course of three intense years, DIY, recorded at Humm Studios with Dom Mitchison (Heavy Lungs, The Manatees, Pet Shimmers), mixed by Ky Witney (The Naturals) and mastered by Pete Maher (Pixies, Jack White, The Rolling Stones), is the result of his ambition to produce an authentic album that reflects himself and what he believes in. He explores his own mental health struggles, relationships, substance abuse, and the impact of his religious upbringing throughout the album.

LUCKY THIEF’s ability to infuse his grunge rock sound with melodic vocals, powerful riffs and booming drums ensures that DIY will have audiences hooked from the first note. The blend of hooks and heft leaves you nowhere to run. It’s personal yet relatable.
Ahead of the release of the album came its third single ‘Spit on the Pavement’ on August 11th.

Discussing what inspired the single, Ed explains, “'Seeing people spit on the pavement, I've always thought it was such a futile act of rebellion. This led me to think about all the other ways we rebel or try and destroy our own paths in similarly pathetic ways. In this track I touch on my own previous relationships and how I have sabotaged my own journey through life.  So, how do you spit on your pavement?”
