IN REVIEW - PAUL DI'ANNO - WARHORSE

When it comes to heavy metal, few people have been more influential right from the early days of the genre. His voice helped launch the iconic band Iron Maiden into the ears of the masses with a growl and a punkish sneer, Paul Di Anno quickly became an iconic figure in the world of heavy metal. Fast forward to 2024, and The Beast is very much back. 

Life certainly has thrown everything at Paul, and he has come back fighting with a stunning second single from his band's self titled debut EP 'Warhorse', is a stunning example of how heavy metal should be. With galloping drums and crushing riffs, 'Warhorse' scratches every itch when it comes to things that make a great metal track. 

Paul shows us all that he is still every bit the heavy metal frontman, and his powerful voice is as distinctive as ever; he has certainly still got it. The atmospheric instrumental aspects, with the intermittent sound of horses matched by squealing guitars, are a real joy to listen to.
