Pet Shop Boys release the video for their latest single, ‘A new bohemia’, today. Watch the video here.

Directed by acclaimed British filmmaker Andrew Haigh (‘All of Us Strangers’), the video was shot on location in Margate, Kent. Artist Tracey Emin and actor Russell Tovey make cameo appearances in the video alongside the people of Margate.
Pet Shop Boys said: “We had a lovely sunny day in Margate filming this video with Andrew Haigh, fresh from his success with ‘All of Us Strangers’. Thanks to Andrew and all concerned, in particular the many local residents who took part, including Russell Tovey and Tracey Emin.”

Andrew Haigh said: “I have loved the Pet Shop Boys since the release of ‘Please’. I have every album and have seen them play live many times over the years. Getting to make a music video with them has been a dream come true.”

The ‘A new bohemia’ single is available now as a five-track digital bundle which includes a radio edit and the original demo of the track, plus an Alex Metric remix. Two further tracks are also included, previously unreleased Pet Shop Boys songs – ‘It's not a crime’ and ‘I've got plans (involving you)’ – which were originally written by Chris and Neil in 1982 and re-recorded in 2022. A CD single will also be released on Friday 5 July and is available to pre-order now.

The full tracklisting for the single digital bundle/CD is –

1. A new bohemia (radio edit)

2. It's not a crime

3. I've got plans (involving you)

Earlier this week the BBC announced that Pet Shop Boys will headline the Sunday night (8 September) at this year’s Radio 2 in the Park. The three-day event will take place in Preston with the duo set to perform a ‘Dreamworld: The Greatest Hits Live’ production – featuring classic hits and the latest singles from their best-selling new album ‘Nonetheless’. Tickets for the show are on sale now.

Pet Shop Boys have sold more than 50 million records, have released 70 hit singles spanning five decades and are the most successful UK duo of all time. Prestigious awards have been numerous across their career including the BRIT Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music in 2009 and the Ivor Novello Award for Outstanding Contribution to British Music in 2000.

In April they released their latest album, ‘Nonetheless’, on Parlophone Records – their first with producer James Ford. The record includes the singles ‘Loneliness’ and ‘Dancing star’ and reached Number 2 in the UK album chart in its first week of release – their highest-charting studio album since 1993. Also in April, the BBC screened a special ‘Imagine’ documentary about Pet Shop Boys presented by Alan Yentob. New European and UK tour dates for ‘Dreamworld: The Greatest Hits Live’ kicked off in May and will include a headline set at this year’s Isle of Wight Festival plus a special sold-out residency at London’s Royal Opera House from 23-27 July.
